I don’t understand what is happening in our “civilized society”. Why are people being indiscriminately killed by police? In the last 6 months I have watched the videos of 2 people; George Floyd and Jacob Blake being indiscriminately killed by police and heard the story of Breonna Taylor. All of whom are POC.
I Am so angry right now. I don’t even know where to begin. I just watched a police officer shoot an unarmed man (Jacob Blake) in the back at close range 7 times. I swear if anyone says well he shouldn’t have been going to his car, I will scream. If you watch an unarmed man go to his car and get shot in the back 7 times in front of his children and all you can say is well he shouldn’t have been going to his car, then you are not someone I want to know. If you watch a man (George Floyd) lay hand-cuffed in the gutter face down asphyxiated because a police officer has his knee on the mans neck and all you have to say is, he shouldn’t have passed a phony $20 bill, then I have to ask how do I know you. I just don’t git it. Why is there such a lack of empathy for POC in this country being shot by police and killed without cause?

Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are destitute. Open your mouth, judge righteously, defend the rights of the poor and needy.
As a Christian man, I am heavy hearted. There is so much hatred in this world and the darkness is deepening. Christians should be letting their light shine in this world. We should be speaking out about the racism in this country at every level of society. We should be protesting, writing letters and calling our representatives. Most of all we should be lifting up the needs of this country and world to God in prayer. We should not be silent and make excuses for in action.
